OZAMIZ CITY, Misamis Occidental, Oct. 1 (PIA)--The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Misamis Occidental held an orientation on online delivery service platform cum formulating Kapatid Mentor ME (KMME) initiatives for the new normal at Bethany Garden, Ozamiz.
DTI Provincial Director Jane Tabucan said online presence is gaining importance as this is the only way to keep businesses stay in business and experience a better normal. But even during pre-COVID times DTI has been at the forefront of promoting e-commerce as we are the agency tasked to do so.
“With the continuous spread of the coronavirus disease COVID-19, there’s still anxiety of going out. Let’s also do ourselves and our community a favor and refrain from going out, let us allow the food delivery platform to help us in getting things done whether it’s food or groceries that we need for the day or for some time,” Tabucan encouraged.
Meanwhile, Proprietor and Manager of Take-out Delivery Services Dominador Borge III said today is the modern age where people will just use their phones and computers to purchase a product.
“We need to adapt and place our products online to be visible for potential customers.” he added
Borge also shared the advantages of online delivery. Through online delivery, products are visible to online platforms and it promotes convenience for customers and merchants, for merchants, since there is no need to hire delivery personnel and pay for motorcycle maintenance. For customers, they can place orders wherever they are using their mobile phone and enjoy the food or items that are available online.
DTI aims to strengthen local delivery service by broadening their scope beyond food and groceries to medicines, fruits, vegetables, bakery products, pantry essentials, pet supplies, and anything delivered safely and securely to a customer’s home or location. (SMRN/PIA Misamis Occidental)
