Lanao del Sur implements 'no movement Sunday'

MARAWI CITY, Sep. 12 (PIA) - The Provincial Government of Lanao del Sur is set to implement the “No Movement Sunday” policy in the entire province starting September 13 as a containment measure against the spread of 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The policy was among the restrictions imposed in Executive Order No. 15 series of 2020 issued by Provincial Governor Mamintal Alonto-Adiong Jr. on September 6, placing the province, including Marawi City, under modified enhanced community quarantine.

Under this policy, only Authorized Persons Outside Residence (APOR) are allowed on the streets every Sunday.

All business establishments, except hospitals and pharmacies, will also be closed.

The "No Movement Sunday” policy aims to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the province.

Data from the Bangsamoro Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on COVID-19 shows that Lanao del Sur has logged a total of 409 confirmed COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic.

The Bangsamoro IATF also recorded 19 new cases as of September 11 with 17 cases coming from Lanao del Sur. (APB/PIA-ICIC)
