PASIG CITY, Sept. 12 (PIA) – The City Government of Pasig expressed gratitude to the national government through the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF EID) on COVID-19 for guiding local government units (LGUs) on the COVID-19 response.
Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto on Friday welcomed the Coordinated Operations to Defeat Pandemic (CODE) Team led by Testing Czar Secretary Vince Dizon and Treatment Czar Undersecretary Leopoldo Vega, and other officials from the Department of Health, Department of Tourism, Department of Social Welfare and Development, and the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
The local chief executive cited the need to sustain collaborative efforts between the national and local government to improve further responses against the COVID-19.
During the dialogue, City Administrator Atty. Jeron Manzanero presented the city’s best practices, such as issuance of the Anti-Hoarding and Anti-Panic Ordinance, implementation of the Barangay Coding at the Pasig Mega Market and in other establishments in the city, steps on general workplace health standards in business establishments, provision of free rides for frontliners, loan program for Pasig residents and supplemental social amelioration program (SAP), assistance to Pasig learners and teachers, among others.
Likewise, Pasig City Police Chief PCol Moises Villaceran shared the city’s ‘Oplan Pagpapatupad’ that delivers public safety services focusing on Information Operation Strategy and Enforcement of Existing Laws and Ordinances. Villaceran said that the strategy enables personnel to manage the situation and ensure the safety and well-being and health of the community.
In turn, DOH Dir. Gloria Balboa presented to the local officials the ‘Operation Listo’ Protocol for the Management of Emerging Infection Diseases including the PDITR (Prevent, Detect, Isolate, Treat, Reintegrate) strategy.
Testing Czar Sec. Vince Dizon also shared that assessment of response should be continuous citing that it is a way on how to be able to improve responses in the future.
The Pasig local government also received masks from the national government under the ‘Mask Para sa Masa’ and other medical supplies. (PIA-NCR)
