NV guv, wife, SP workers negative of COVID-19

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Sept. 8 (PIA) - Governor Carlos Padilla and his wife, former Governor Ruth Padilla were found negative of the COVID-19 infection, health officials here bared.

Dr. Edwin Galapon, provincial health officer said the Padilla couple, along with the board members who made contact with CV 833 and personnel of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan showed negative of the virus as shown in their latest Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) test which detects the virus' genetic material.

"The RT PCR test were conducted right away to check their positive infection of the virus since they were exposed to CV 833 but it was negative after all," he said.

Galapon was referring to board member Eunice Galima-Gambol, tagged by health officials as CV 833 who publicly admitted her infection from the COVID-19 in her Facebook account and pleading for forgiveness among her earlier contacts.

Governor Padilla has ordered the temporary closure of the provincial capitol from September 4 to 11 to pave the way for the disinfection of the entire provincial capitol buildings, workplaces, offices and facilities.

He also advised various PLGU offices to adopt their own Work From Home schemes including contact tracing and swab test for PLGU workers who may have mingled with CV 833.

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) building houses the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO) and the Provincial Engineering Office (PEO).(MDCT/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
