OSHC organizes Safety Officer 1 training for MSMEs

QUEZON CITY, Sept 7 (PIA) -- The Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC) will be holding a free Online training on Basic Occupational Safety and Health Training (BOSH) for Safety Officer 1, scheduled on September 8 (8:00AM-3:15pm) and September 9 (8:00AM-3:00pm) for the Micro, Small to Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), who has less than 50 employees.

The BOSH for Safety Officer 1 training is an 8-hour Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) orientation plus 2-hour Training of Trainers designed to impart knowledge and skills on basic concepts and principles of occupational safety and health to enable potential safety officers (SO1-certification) to implement their respective company's safety and health program.

The OSHC will NOT accept the following: (1) unemployed registrants; (2) more than 2 registrants per company; (3) minimum technological requirements were not met; and (4) potentially high risk establishments, as described in the  DO 198 s.2018.

Participants are required to use the following:

• Either a laptop or desktop with an internal/external webcam and microphone. Mobile devices such as phones or tablets will not be allowed.

• Spreadsheet and presentation viewing/editing program such as MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Numbers, Keynote, etc.

• A stable internet connection is recommended

The OSHC will send a confirmation e-mail to qualified participants. The email contains the information on how to join the training & other reminders.
