“Thee SWIP will irrigate additional rice land in the town aside from the existing irrigated farm lands now,” Edillo said.

Mallig Mayor Jonathan Calderon has expressed his thanks to DA-2 for providing the projects especially in areas that are not reached by irrigation services.

Calderon said the said projects will surely add agricultural produce in the town and increase the income of the farmers.

Meanwhile, Trinidad 2 Small Water Irrigation System Association (SWISA) President Francisco Ventura said the allotted project in the town will benefit his fellow farmers who are dependent on rainfed farming.

“We thank the DA for choosing the town in putting up the 6 SWIP that will soon be used in raising the income of my fellow farmers,” Ventura said. (BME/MGE/PIA 2-Isabela)
