PASIG CITY, Sept. 15 (PIA) -- Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto cited the importance of having good communication lines between the national and the local government in responding to COVID-19.
In his Facebook live Monday, Mayor Vico gave a recap of the Coordinated Operations to Defeat Pandemic (CODE) Team visit at the Pasig City Hall on Friday, Sept. 11, led by the government's response against COVID-19 Testing Czar Secretary Vince Dizon and Treatment Czar Usec. Leopoldo Vega.
“Napaka importante ng magandang komunikasyon mula sa national level hanggang sa barangay level,” said Sotto.
The local chief executive also shared the medical supplies and equipment like face masks, PPEs, and ventilators provided by the national government to Pasig LGU in response to COVID-19.
“Makakatulong po sa atin sa laban natin kontra COVID-19,” he said.
The "Barangay Disiplina Brigade" was also launched last Friday wherein Mayor Sotto led the oathtaking of the city’s barangay officials.
Sotto also shared the news that the Pasig City’s Molecular Laboratory already received its license to operate for the PCR [Polymerase chain reaction] testing adding that the city’s testing capacity and results will now be faster.
“Bibilis yung pagte-test natin, bibilis yung paglabas ng resulta,” he added.
Moreover, Pasig City provides free COVID-19 antibody testing to Pasigueños as part of its COVID-19 response. (PIA-NCR)
