PNP Ozamiz confirms Ardot Parojinog's death

OZAMIZ CITY, Misamis Occidental, Sep. 4 (PIA)--The Philippine National Police (PNP) Ozamiz confirmed the death of Ardot Parojinog inside the jail facility of Ozamiz City Police Station at about 6:00 a.m., September 4.

Ricardo "Ardot" Parojinog, 57, a resident of Barangay Bagacay, Ozamiz City was discovered to be unconscious/ unresponsive during the conduct of routinary jail inspection by the duty cell guard. It can be recalled that Parojinog arrived September 3 to attend his arraignment for violations of RA 9516. 

He was under the custody of the PNP-HSS led by PltCol Jigger Noceda and was temporarily detained at Ozamiz CPS. 

Upon discovery of the unresponsive Parojinog, the cell guard on duty immediately opened the cell door to closely check on him, but again he was unconscious and unresponsive, immediately, the officer of the day called for an ambulance for immediate medical attention.

Ozamiz City Chief of Police PMaj Peter Rhyan Revillas said, “Based on the medico legal certificate of former City Councilor Ricardo “Ardot” Parojinog, the diagnosis is cardiopulmonary arrest secondary to cardiovascular disease and probable COVID-19 disease, pending RT-PCR test result."

Provincial Director of Mis Occ PPO, PCol Danildo Tumanda assured the public that a separate and impartial investigation will be conducted relative to the case.

Parojinog is facing various criminal cases in court such as murder, violations of RA 10591, RA 9516 and Anti Pilferage law before the Regional Trial Court in Ozamiz City. (SMRN/PIA Misamis Occidental)
