Red Cross molecular lab soon to rise in Isabela

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, Sept. 9 (PIA) - The first-ever Red Cross Molecular Laboratory in Cagayan Valley will soon rise in this city to expand the testing capacity for COVID-19 in the region.

This after officials of the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) - Isabela chapter have laid cornerstone for molecular laboratory building located inside the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council complex on Aug. 29.

First District Representative Antonio T. Albano expressed his thanks to Gov. Rodolfo Albano III for donating the lot and building and to Senator and PRC Chairman Richard Gordon for donating the laboratory equipment to be used once the construction is completed.

Aside from being a COVID-19 testing facility, Albano said the laboratory will also be instrumental to provide the needed blood bank services.

He said the facility will also be useful during disaster relief operations in cases of emergencies and calamities that will hit the province. 

The laying of cornerstone was attended by PRC - Isabela chapter Honorary Chairman Gov. Rodolfo Albano III, 1st District Congressman Antonio T. Albano, LPGMA Rep. Alan Ty, Rep. Ana Go, San Pablo Mayor Jojo Miro, 1st District Board Members Emmanuel Albano and Emmanuel AƱes, and chapter board of directors of PRC- Isabela. (MDCT/MGE/PIA 2-Isabela)
