CPLRC gives books to COVID-19 patients

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Sept. 9 (PIA) – The Cagayan Provincial Learning and Resource Center (CPLRC) packed different volumes of Reader’s Digest and other reading materials and distributed it for free to COVID–19 patients at the Cagayan Valley Medical Center.

Center’s head Michael Pinto said being confined for 14 days in the hospital is a difficult thing and that they want the patients to learn and be entertained through the informative books they gave it to them.

CPLRC staff packs reading materials ready for distribtion in the different hospitals.

Around eight volumes per bundle were given to every patient and around 320 packs have been distributed.

Pinto said after CVMC, they are set to distribute books in all district hospitals where there are suspected COVID-19 patients.

“We taught of doing this because we know they are facing difficult situation and we want to enrich their minds and have a positive outlook that they can win over their disease through reading. It’s our way of bringing close to them the services of our center,” he added.

The CPLRC, because of its programs and innovations was adjudged as 2019 Top Performing Library in the Philippines while Pinto garnered 2nd Placer in the 2020 Gawad Parangal sa Natatanging Propesyonal na Tagapangasiwa ng Pampublikong Aklatan in the national level. (MDCT/GVB/PIA 2-Cagayan)
