CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga, Oct. 29 (PIA) - - One hundred ninety-five gun owners in the province renewed their licenses or applied for license to own and possess firearms (LTOPF) during a two-day LTOPF caravan held recently at Camp Captain Juan M. Duyan, this city.
The two-day caravan aims to provide an easier compilation of the requirements for those applying for an LTOPF as it is a one-stop shop processing and renewal of firearms license for firearms holders in the province.
Applicants were required to secure National Bureau of Investigation clearance and undergo neuro-psychiatric examination, drug testing, and gun safety tests. They were also asked to submit notarized application form, government IDs, and police/barangay clearances, and proof of income, among others.
Provincial Philippine National Police Director PCol. Davy Vicente Limmong reminded all gun holders with expired licenses and other private individuals who want to own a firearm for protection that the LTOPF is a must for the registration of firearms in line with promoting responsible gun ownership in the country.
“We are asking for your help and cooperation with our police officers for us to maintain peace and order in the province. Let us help each other,” Limmong said. (JDP/PAB-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
