QUEZON CITY, Oct. 2 (PIA) – After being closed for tourism for almost 6 months, Presidential Spokesperson Secretary Harry Roque announced yesterday, October 1, the opening of the Island of Boracay in Aklan for domestic tourism.

Tourists, including Aklanon, who intend to stay in Boracay for at least one night must follow these procedures:

1.      Fill out the Online Health Declaration form through http://aklan.gov.ph or https://bit.ly/2QzbUkZ. A confirmation with instructions will be displayed.

2.      Save a copy of the confirmation on their smartphones or have it printed.

3.      Email copies of the HDC, RT-PCR Negative Result, confirmed booking slip/form, and proof of identification to touristboracay@gmail.com.

4.      Wait for the response of the final validator. Processing takes less than a day after receipt of complete documents

5.      If processing is successful, a copy of the HDC with Tourist QR Code will be sent back. Present this HDC with Tourist QR Code to authorities in the borders for scanning.

6.      If processing is unsuccessful, resubmission of requirements or clarification may be required.
