SAN JOSE, Antique, Oct. 24 (PIA) -- Antiqueños are encouraged to join the annual Competition for Innovation, a brainchild of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) designed to boost the market of local products.
This year’s competition highlighted the development of products made of cacao and coffee, which are famous raw materials found in Antique.
The contest further underscored the promotion of indigenous resources and increased income of platers and processors.
In addition, participants will undertake research and development of existing food recipes or new formulation.
Expected outputs are the food products packaged with mandatory information such as Product Name, Ingredients, Name of Producer, Address and Telephone Number.
According to DTI-Antique, winners will be linked with the shared service facilities on food processing for trial run on commercialization.
Senior Trade and Industry Specialist Engr. Arlene Galopo shared that the food processing shared service facilities maximizes local products and micro small and medium enterprises by giving them access to technologies and wider market share.
Meanwhile, the DTI will also help in the intellectual property registration for technology generators if needed.
Interested participants must submit their entries at DTI-Antique until first week of November this year.
