La Union has 21 new COVID-19 cases

SAN FERNANDO CITY, Nov. 1 (PIA) – Twenty-one new cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) were recorded in La Union on Oct. 31.

 

On its official Facebook page, the Provincial Government of La Union reported that 13 of the new cases are from the municipality Agoo, three from the municipality of Rosario, two each from the municipality of San Juan and the City of San Fernando, and one from the municipality of Burgos.

 

All new cases of Agoo town are males aged 21 to 30 from Barangay San Antonio. Eight of which are symptomatic while five have no symptoms of the virus. They all had history of exposure to a positive case and are now quarantined at Agoo Academy Training Center.

 

The case of Burgos is a 38-year-old asymptomatic male from New Poblacion village. He had no history of exposure and travel and is currently under strict home quarantine.

 

Further, the two new cases of the City of San Fernando are both males. One from Poro village aged 25 years old, asymptomatic, and with history of travel outside La Union. He is now admitted to an isolation facility. The other case is from Barangay Parian, a 32-year-old symptomatic patient who had no history and exposure and travel. He has been admitted at the Ilocos Training and Regional Medical Center (ITRMC), this city.

 

Those cases in San Juan are from Ili Sur village – a 25-year-old male and a 30-year-old female – who are both asymptomatic, no history of exposure and travel, and presently under strict quarantine in a barracks.

 

Meanwhile, the three new cases from Rosario town are: a 70-year-old male from Barangay Amlang, asymptomatic, no history of exposure and travel; a 30-year-old female from Barangay Tay-ac, asymptomatic, and with history of travel outside La Union. Both cases are admitted at the ITRMC. The third case is from a 22-year-old male from Cataguintingan village, asymptomatic, and had no history of exposure and travel. He is currently under strict home quarantine.

 

The Provincial Government said it is closely monitoring the situation and providing the necessary support to its component LGUs and partner organizations to strengthen COVID-19 prevention, surveillance, response and treatment.

 

At present, La Union has 472 total confirmed cases of which 43 are active cases, 413 are recovery cases, and 16 are death cases. (JCR/JPD, PIA La Union)
