CATARMAN, Northern Samar, Oct. 21 (PIA) – Gov. Edwin Marino Ongchuan distributed food packs to the 15,000 families affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).
Marlon Eco, OIC Disaster Focal Person of the Provincial Social Welfare Development Office (PSWDO) said the food packs assistance from the provincial government contain 10 kg of rice, three cans of corned beef, three cans of sardines, one pack of odong noodles, 500 grams of sayote), 500 grams eggplant, and 500 grams mongo beans, and 750 grams of squash and other vegetables purchased from the local farmers.
Governor Edwin Marino Ongchuan said that the food packs will provide relief to families who had to stop working during the ECQ and are no longer receiving daily wage or income.
As of this writing, the barangays that got their share of food assistance from the province are: Acacia (76 families), Jose P. Rizal (136 families), Santol (107 families), Lapu-Lapu (110 families), Mabolo (190 families), Sampaguita (122 families), Airport Village (560 families) and UEP Zone 2 (401).
MIATF Resolution No. 12 placed 23 out of 55 barangays of Catarman under Enhanced Community Quarantine due to the continuous rise of confirmed COVID-19 cases in a weeks’ time.
The barangays under ECQ are: Acacia, Airport Village, Bangkerohan, Baybay, Calachuchi, Cawayan, Casoy, Dalakit, Ipil-ipil, Jose Abad Santos, Jose P. Rizal, Lapu-lapu, Macagtas, Mabolo, Molave, Narra, Sampaguita, Santol, Talisay, UEP Zone 1, UEP Zone 2, UEP Zone 3, and Yakal. (nbq/TBC/PIA Northern Samar)
