PNP chief lauds Advisory Council for displaying Bayanihan spirit

PAGADIAN  CITY , 27 Oct. (PIA)—  The Philippine National Police (PNP) chief lauded the Bayanihan spirit displayed by members of the PNP Advisory Council during the difficult situation caused by the deadly coronavirus disease-2019 (Covid-19).

Thus disclosed by P/General Camilo Cascolan, the guest of honor and speaker at the 6th National Advisory Council (NAC) Summit held at the PNP Multi-Purpose Center, Camp Crame, Quezon City on October October 21 to 23.

Cascolan said this year's 6th NAC Summit which carries theme “Rising Together: Building Resilience and Adapting to the New Environment through the Bayanihan Spirit, comes the most opportune time when we are adversely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic."

“Despite this worldwide disruptive phenomena, it is very inspiring experience [that] the Bayanihan spirit manifested by our PNP Advisory Council  members whose strong presence and active support in different forms extended during this trying times, help us cope with the difficulties and fears and bringing us hope,” Cascolan said.

Cascolan said the summit was pushed through with the strong collaboration of National Advisory Group for Police Transformation and Development (NAGPTD), technical working group and the benevolence and proactive Regional Advisory Council (RAC) members who believe in PNP as partner in nation building.

In line with government’s thrust for the  country to heal and recover as one, Cascolan said the summit provided the good venue to share information, discuss relevant issues, concerns and challenges and share good practices and and best practices and initiatives showcasing strong and active partnerships that should be replicated and adopted.

“This is a living proof of the growing and unceasing support and strong partnership of the PNP and to all of you our steamed advisory council members,” Cascolan proudly announced.

He also said that the transformation of PNP started with the 10-year transformation program and with the institutionalized PNP Patrol Plan 2030 and beyond,  is never easy but rather full of challenges, obstacles  and uncertainties.

“With the resilience, commitment and dedication and synergy among the PNP,  internal and external stakeholders and partners, we were able to overcome the challenges with strong resolve and higher optimism,” he added.

He said that the institutionalized status of the PNP is not the end but rather it shall serve as another stepping stone for the organization to aim  higher and sustain their gains towards attaining their common vision for a highly capable, effective and credible police service.

During my term as a chief PNP,  we will do more to ensure that the  progress that we attained will be sustained with the following lines of strategic thrust in our sustainable development program under the PNP PATROL Plan 2030 and beyond that will realize and proudly say that "ang Pulis ko'y respetado, responsble at disiplinado,” Cascolan concluded.

The summit was attended by more than 1,000 RAC members using virtual conferencing to keep participants safe from the infectious and deadly COVID-19.  (RVC/GCC/PIA Zamboanga del Sur)
