CALOOCAN CITY, Oct. 13 (PIA) --The Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of Barangays Phil-Am, Commonwealth, and San Roque of Quezon City are the winners of the “Drug-Free is the New Normal” Video-Making Contest.
Organized by the DILG-NCR, the Inter-Agency Committee on Anti-Illegal Drugs-NCR (ICAD-NCR), and the Regional Peace and Order Council-NCR (RPOC-NCR), the contest aims to recognize the role of the youth in finding solutions against the menace of illegal drugs.
The entries of Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) of Barangays Phil-Am, Commonwealth, and San Roque were named first, second, and third place winners respectively in an awarding held via Zoom application last October 5. Winners received a Plaque of Recognition and cash prize of P30,000 for the first place, P20,000 for the second place, and P10,000 for the third place. The top 20 finalists also received a Plaque of Recognition.
DILG-NCR Regional Director Maria Lourdes Agustin, DILG Undersecretary Ricojudge Janvier Echiverri, RPOC-NCR Chairperson Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez, and Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte led the awarding of the winners and finalists. ICAD Chairperson and PDEA Director General Wilkins Villanueva also sent his congratulatory video message.
The Selection Committee composed of key officials from ICAD-NCR member-agencies evaluated the entries. Its members include DILG-NCR, Dangerous Drugs Board, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-NCR (PDEA-NCR), National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), Philippine Anti-Drugs Strategy – Project Management Office DILG (PADS-PMO-DILG), and Caritas Manila-Sanlakbay Program.
Winners were chosen based on the following criteria: clarity of message and its significance to the spectators (20%), displays freshness of the idea and independence of thought (20%), stimulates constructive imagination (20%), conveys realistic situations (20%), and the number of likes garnered in the DILG NCR Facebook page (20%).
