BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Oct. 16 - - - (PIA) The number of COVID-19 cases in the province continue to decrease with only 22 remaining as of October 15.
The decreasing number of COVID-19 cases has elated Governor Carlos Padilla and the rest of the Provincial COVID-19 Task Force (PCOVID-19 TF) in a meeting at the Pasalubong Center yesterday.
"Kudos to our frontline health workers, local government units, officials, nationa agencies and the PCOVID-19 TF who labored to contain the COVID-19 cases. We have levelled off but it should not be a time to be complacent. It might be temporary," Padilla said.
The governor said the strategies that were made by various sectors in the previous weeks helped in the containment of the virus.
Padilla pointed that in October 2, the province had 164 COVID-19 total active cases compared to October 14 which posted 22 remaining cases.
"We have contained it and this is a relief on the stress that the virus has made in our logistics and manpower, among others," he added.
Padilla however cautioned everyone to remain vigilant and practice the health protocols such as wearing of face mask and face shield, social distancing and regular washing and disinfection of hands, among others.
"The virus will still re-emerge unless and until a vaccine will be made. Everyone's cooperation and support are needed so that we can totally overcome this virus," he said.Dr. Edwin Galapon, Provincial Health Officer said the province has no more severe and critical cases at the Region 2 Trauma and Medical Center in Bayombong."We only have mild and stable cases at the R2TMC and we expect a zero case in the next two weeks," he said.The distribution of the remaining 22 COVID-19 cases in the province are 9 in Bayombong, 4 in Solano, 4 in Bambang, 3 in Bagabag and 1 each in Quezon and Diadi towns.
