Dgte logs 2 new COVID-19 positive cases

DUMAGUETE CITY, Nov. 24 (PIA) -- The Dumaguete City’s Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases has confirmed two new COVID-19 cases recorded as of yesterday.

On the other hand, NegOrCov 448 already tested negative in a repeat swab and considered to have recovered from coronavirus, while based on the results of the RT-PCR swab tests 15 close contacts of COVID positive patients tested negative of COVID-19.

City Health Officer Dr. Maria Sarah Talla provided the profiles of the new COVID-19 cases, the newly recovered and those who most recently tested negative as follows:

  • New positive cases include NegOrCov 547 who is a 46-year-old male resident of Brgy. Buñao and a relative of the elderly couple who have since recovered. He is asymptomatic.
  • NegOrCov 556 is a 61-year-old male resident of Brgy. Junob and a meat butcher in the public market. He is symptomatic and confined in a local hospital.
  • NegOrCov 448 is a 52-year-old housewife and resident of Brgy. Looc, confined at NOPH COVID ward and has recovered from the infection.

It was also reported that the 12 close contacts of a COVID-19 case from Bantayan who is now in Manila and three close contacts of the elderly couple NEGOR-COV 426 and 427 in Brgy. Buñao tested negative in their swab tests.

Dumaguete City now has 10 active COVID-19 cases.

Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo appealed for the cooperation of the residents and visitors by religiously practicing the universal health protocols such as wearing of face masks, frequent hand washing, and social/physical distancing. (jct/PIA7 Negros Oriental)
