BAMBANG, Nueva Vizcaya, Nov. 24 (PIA) - Provincial government - paid nurses here will soon receive their upgraded salaries based on Republic Act 9173 or the Philippine Nursing Act of 2002.
Governor Carlos Padilla said the upgraded salaries of nurses will be released starting in July this year.
"This means that you will also have differential pays aside from your upgraded salaries. We hope that you will be more inspired to work with a full heart, dedication and commitment to safeguard the health and wellness of our fellow Novo Vizcayanos," he said.
Padilla bared the development during yesterday's ground breaking program for the construction of the more than P88.1 million Main Building of the Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Hospital(NVPH) in barangay Almaguer North in this town.
Padilla who authored the proposed bill when he was still the province's lone Representative in Congress said the upgraded salaries of PLGU nurses will bring relief for their families especially at this time of COVID - 19 pandemic.
With the upgraded salaries of nurses, a Nurse 1 position with more than P21,000.00 monthly salary will now receive P30,450.00, the governor said.
Padilla also thanked the Sangguniang Panlalawigan for crafting the ordinance appropriating funds for the salary hike among the PLGU nurses.
"We should be grateful because the SP took utmost recognition and priority for the implementation of the Philippine Nursing Act of 2002. This is still timely considering that we are facing the pandemic," he said.
He also announced the funding of the Electronic Management and Numerical System Program for all PLGU-operated hospitals in the province.
The program, Padilla said will provide LGU hospitals with a more systematic mode in fast tracking billings for the PhilHealth, new systems and training of workers. (MDCT/BME/PIA -2 Nueva Vizcaya)
