DSWD-7 targets more than 30T beneficiaries in CV under Bayanihan 2

CEBU CITY, Nov. 26 (PIA) -- The Department of Social Welfare and Development Region 7 (DSW- 7) targeted 37,644 beneficiaries for Bayanihan to Recover as One Act or Bayanihan 2 in Central Visayas (CV).

DSWD-7 Regional Director Rebecca Geamala, in her report during the recent 4th Quarter Regional Development Council Social Development Committee Meeting, said the distribution has already started for low-income families affected by COVID -19 granular lockdowns in four local government units in Bohol province.

A total of 174 qualified beneficiaries in Bohol received the Emergency Subsidy Program (ESP) amounting to P6,000 per family with a total amount of P1,044,000. 

There is still an ongoing distribution to additional beneficiaries in Zamboaguita, Negros Oriental while the documents of other beneficiaries from Bohol, Cebu, and Siquijor are being processed. 

Bayanihan 2 allocates funds to enhance the government’s COVID-19 response as well as its economic recovery efforts. 

It is a financial assistance for the beneficiaries and indigents under the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP).

Meanwhile, DSWD-7 is continuing its distribution of the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) 2 to those who were not able to receive their assistance under SAP 1 due to mismatch or lack of information provided by the beneficiaries.

The total budget for SAP 2 in the region is P4,828,812,300 with the following breakdown: P4,133,442,000 for non-4Ps  and P695,370,300 for 4Ps. (hfg/PIA7)
