LTFRB, Bambang LGU, bus coop launch modern buses

The Modern Private Utility Vehicles (MPUVs) that were launched in Nueva Vizcaya.

BAMBANG, Nueva Vizcaya, Nov. 2 (PIA) - The local government unit here in partnership with the Land Tranportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) and bus cooperative here recently launched the opening of a bus terminal and modernized buses.

The Provincial Bus Central Terminal (PBCT) along the Heroes Boulevard at barangay Calaocan here will cater to passengers plying the Solano-Kasibu and Solano-Bayombong routes.

Mayor Pepito Balgos said the establishment and the Modern Private Utility Vehicles (MPUVs) will benefit the local transport groups and boost the town's local economy.

"This will also ease traffic congestion in our municipality. This will eventually help our transport sector with safer and more convenient and comfortable means of transportation," he said.

Vizcaya Cordon Solano Transport Cooperative (VISCON) is awarded their Provisional Authority for the five Class 3 Modern PUJ units that will ply the route from Solano - Aritao.

 

Edward L. Cabase, regional director of LTFRB Region 2 explains the importance of the PUV Modernization Program as the flagship, non-infrastructure project of the administration of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte. 

The MPUJ units are equipped with Euro-4 engines and accessories such as dashcams, CCTV, speed limiters, Automatic Fare Collection System (AFCS), and WiFi.

The MPUV is one of the priority programs of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte which aims to provide the riding public with a restructured, modern, well-managed and environment- friendly transportation.

The PUV Modernization Program is the flagship, non-infrastructure project of the administration of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte with the goal of providing a comfortable life for all Filipinos through a safe, reliable, convenient, affordable and environmentally-sustainable public transportation system in the country.

The program was also attended by Edward L. Cabase, regional director of LTFRB Region 2; Director Directo Col. Renwick Rutaquio (Ret.), the OIC Executive Director of LTFRB Central Office and the Regional Director of LTFRB Region IV; Dir. Nasrudin Talipasan, Regional Director of LTFRB Region I; Hon. Eufemia Dacayo, mayor of LGU Solano; Hon. Gregorio Allas Jr., vice mayor of LGU Bambang; Former Mayor Flaviano Balgos of Bambang; and members of VISCON led by Chairman Wilson Valdez (MDCT/BME//PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
