CALOOCAN CITY, Nov. 9 (PIA) – Manila Mayor Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso awarded P100,000 cash incentive to 73 barangays with no new COVID-19 cases for two months.

This after, the mayor announced that no new COVID-19 cases were reported in about 73 barangays for two months, from September 1 to October 31, 2020.

To recall, Domagoso announced the incentive-based approach last August 31. He said that all COVID-19 data come from the Manila Health Department (MHD) to verify whether or not the barangay recorded zero COVID-19 infection for two months.

“Ang goal natin ay zero COVID-19 infection for two months sa barangay, and I believe that you can do it. That is why we want to give you incentives,” he said.

The mayor said that he had asked the City Council of Manila led by Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan to allocate the appropriate budget for the incentive-based program. (MPIO/PIA-NCR)
