MMDA deploys 17-member team to 'Rolly'-hit Cam Sur to provide rehabilitation assistance

PASIG CITY, Nov. 6 (PIA) -- The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has deployed today personnel to Barangay Abo, Tigaon, Camarines Sur that suffered severe devastation brought by Super Typhoon Rolly over the weekend.

MMDA Chair Danilo Lim said the contingent will provide rehabilitation assistance to the affected families.

“We have to help out our kababayans who have been severely affected by Rolly. I want all of you to keep safe during the entire duration of the mission,” Lim said during the send-off ceremony at the MMDA headquarters earlier today.

The 17-man team, composed of personnel from the agency’s Public Safety Division and Flood Control Sewerage Management Office, is headed by Task Force Commander Allan Longcop.

For his part, Ret. Gen. Alfredo Andres, Officer-in-Charge of MMDA Metropolitan Public Safety Office (MPSO) said the contingent is equipped with water purifiers, solar panels, generator sets, chainsaws, among others.

Camarines Sur 4th District Representative Arnie Fuentebella requested for assistance from MMDA.

On November 2, the province of Camarines Sur declared a state of calamity following the onslaught of Super Typhoon Rolly. (PIA NCR)
