Dubbed as ‘Aid to Humanity’ (Lingap sa Mamamayan), the charitable activity serves as the main humanitarian program of the Church.

The five beneficiary-towns located in each of the five INC Ecclesiastical Districts in Pangasinan were  Mangaldan, Bayambang, Agno, Pozzorubio and Rosales.

The sacks of rice and 2,000-4,000 goodie bags were turned over  by District Ministers of the Church to the municipal governments which would deliver these to the barangays.

During the simple turnover ceremonies, minimum health protocols were strictly observed and implemented.

The municipal and barangay councils were thankful to the church administration for the donations especially “in this time of the year when local government resources are already depleted”.

“Malaking tulong po ito sa ating mga kababayan lalo na ngayong panahon ng pandemya at mga sunud-sunod na bagyo,” the Guesang (Mangaldan) Barangay Council said.

In an earlier interviews aired by the Church, INC spokesperson Edwil Zabala said that the church’s outreach programs are a way to promote understanding and are aligned with the teachings of the Bible.

“Through this, we are able to teach first all the members of the church itself to abide by that biblical doctrine that we must extend assistance to our fellow men in need. Second, it promotes understanding among different faith groups,” Brother Zabala said.

The activity coincided with the 65th birthday of INC’s Executive Minister, Brother Eduardo V. Manalo.  (JCR/VHS/PIA-Pangasinan)
