Pasig River Ferry back in operation today

PASIG CITY, Nov. 25 (PIA) – The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) announced the resumption of operations of the Pasig River Ferry Service (PRFS) starting Wednesday, November 25, after repairs of pontoons had been completed .  Recent typhoon Ulysses caused damages in some  of the pontoons used by the PRFS.

According to MMDA, operational stations are Pinagbuhatan in Pasig City; Guadalupe in Makati City; Hulo in Mandaluyong City; Lambingan, Sta. Ana, Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), Escolta and Lawton in Manila City.

The ferry operates from Monday to Saturday, from 6 am to 6 pm.

MMDA reminds riding public that the PRFS is implementing health and safety protocols, such as wearing of face shield and face mask, temperature check, and observing the physical distancing inside the ferry stations and boats to ensure safety of passengers against the spread of COVID-19.

Likewise, passengers must fill up a manifest form and commuter information sheet before boarding.  

To be recalled, operations of the ferry service were suspended after pontoons or docking platforms for boats were damaged at the height of typhoon “Ulysses.”  (MMDA/PIA-NCR)
