TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, Nov. 23 (PIA) - - As gesture of love and care, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has distributed 6,000 relief packs to flood-affected families in Cagayan.
Heherson Pambid, branch manager, said there were 3,500 relief packs prepared for the towns of Buguey, Baggao, Alcala, Amulung and Iguig.
Earlier, the team distributed 2,500 packs in the towns of Enrile, Solana and Tuguegarao City.
"We know that there's a lot of relief operations now in this province but the PCSO is trying to reach out areas that were not yet targeted by relief operations," Pambid said.
Included in the relief packs are blankets, canned goods, noodles, vitamins, medicines, baby diapers and others.
He also said the relief goods came from the charity funds of PCSO, particularly the lotto games, keno, small town lottery and others.
"With this activity of simply sharing and caring, we are hopeful that people will realize the importance to support PCSO's lottery games.
Isah Mariano, a beneficiary from Buguey, said it is only the PCSO that have reached their community since the series of typhoons affected Cagayan province this quarter.
Christopher Barcena, also a beneficiary, said the medicines and vitamins alone are already big help to their family, especially for the health of their children. (MDCT/OTB/PIA 2-Cagayan)
