Treñas: Follow new normal protocols to help revive local economy

ILOILO CITY, Nov. 11 (PIA) – Iloilo City mayor Jerry Treñas said that Ilonggos can help in reviving the local economy by following the guidelines and protocols of the new normal.

“As we continue our battle against COVID-19, we are reminded that all these will not be over, unless, we all work together and perform our individual responsibilities,” he said.

He said that by simply following the guidelines and protocols set in the new normal, the public can help in reviving the local economy as business establishments have restarted their operations.

“I would like to encourage every Ilonggo to patronize local restaurants, fast food, and cafes, in order to help them recover and survive,” he said.

Treñas said that this does not mean that people are already safe from the virus, but as long as the public observes the minimum health standards and protocols, people should not be afraid to go out of their houses.

“We have already decided to allow convenience stores and fast food restaurants to operate for 24 hours to give them a bigger chance to bounce back,” he said.

He added that these steps may help these businesses and he is hoping for the support from the Ilonggos. (JSC/LTP/PIA6 Iloilo/Thumbnail photo courtesy of Mayor Jerry Treñas FB Page)
