CALOOCAN CITY, Dec. 12 (PIA) -- Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año on Friday warned mall and resort owners of suspending their business permits once they violate the health protocols.
In a report over PTV’s popular morning show Rise and Shine Pilipinas, Año issued the warning following the report of an increase in the number of establishments violating the protocols.
The DILG chief said this is also in anticipation of the holidays.
Año said it is the responsibility of the establishments to implement the proper minimum health standards in accordance with the government’s guidelines to prevent the further spread of COVID-19.
He also reiterated the required protocols such as wearing of face mask and face shield, and maintaining physical distancing while exploring the malls or resorts.
Health experts earlier anticipated an increase in coronavirus cases due to social events that may happen during the holiday season.\
To recall, during the pre-COVID time, the Christmas season ushered mall-wide sales and mass gathering events. (PIA NCR)
