Navotas grants P10,000 incentive to city workers

CALOOCAN CITY, Dec. 31 (PIA) -- The City Government of Navotas has granted P10,000 service recognition incentive for its regular and contract of service employees.

Mayor Toby Tiangco signed City Ordinance Nos. 2020-44 and 2020-45 giving cash incentives to 534 regular and 1,832 contractual employees who have been working with the city government for at least three months.

"Our employees have been instrumental in our fight against COVID-19. Their commitment to fulfilling their duties despite risks enabled us to respond effectively to the pandemic and manage our COVID situation," Mayor Toby said.

"We want to recognize all their hard work and sacrifices, and motivate them to continue giving their best in service of Navoteños," Tiangco added.

Previously, the city government granted P5,000 cash assistance to 208 members of Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams (BHERT).

In August, it also released P2.8 million for the one-time special risk allowance of 428 city health frontliners.

"This year has been tough for everyone, especially for our frontliners and employees. That is why we continue to encourage every Navoteño to do their part. Practicing safety measures and taking care of themselves contribute much in our fight against COVID-19," the mayor said.

Tiangco also reiterated his call to residents and workers in Navotas to undergo swab testing in January.

"The test is free. You just have to coordinate with your barangay or our Business Permits and Licensing Office so they could arrange your test schedule," he said.

"Help us also decide what vaccine to purchase. Participate in our survey so we could determine how best to pursue our vaccination program," he urged.

Navotas allotted P20,000,000 from its Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Fund for the purchase of COVID-19 vaccine. (PIA NCR)
