OrMin LGU, DOST conduct livelihood training in Socorro

SOCORRO, Oriental Mindoro, Dec. 4 (PIA) – The provincial government of Oriental Mindoro, through its Provincial Tourism, Investment, and Enterprise Development Office (PTIEDO) and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST)-Oriental Mindoro Provincial Office conducted recently a Training on Ube Candy Making, specifically making of macapuno balls, green papaya dulce, and pastillas de ube in Brgy. Ma. Concepcion, this town.

The livelihood training in the community which was participated in by 25 residents of said barangay.

DOST Provincial Director Jesse M. Pine and Orlando Tizon, Head of PTIEDO, also committed to assist the community to organize an association composed of the participants, in order to access financial assistance from the government.

Primary aim of this activity is to establish and strengthen livelihood programs of various organizations in the province to uplift the lives and living conditions of people in the community.

The training was facilitated in by Norie Taa, an accredited trainer of Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).  (LTC/PIA-OrMin)
