P34.6-M worth of shabu seized in Caloocan buy-bust

CALOOCAN CITY, Dec. 26 (PIA) -- Authorities seized P34.6-million worth of crystal meth or shabu in this city on Thursday, Dec. 24, during an intensified  anti-illegal drugs operations.

“The anti-illegal drugs campaign will spare no one, holiday or no holiday,” Philippine National Police chief Police General Debold Sinas said. 

Citing field reports reaching the PNP Command Center in Camp Crame, Sinas said URIEL HEWE JR. y Omac aka Bong, 31, of Block 15, Lot 7, Mangga St., Amparo Subdivision Barangay 179, Caloocan City was arrested in a buy-bust operation launched by operatives of Drug Enforcement Unit of Caloocan City Police Station.

Seized from suspect direct possession and control were:

  • one piece of knot tied transparent ice plastic bag containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu as the subject of sale;
  • five pieces of large vacuum sealed tranparent plastic bag containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu;
  • three pieces of foil wrapper chinese tea bag label with GUANYINWANG;
  • pieces of trolly travelling bag color gray with brand label VOYAGER;
  • two ATM cards of Banco de Oro color blue and yellow;
  • one digital weighing scale color gray;
  • one unit calibre .45 ARSMCOR pistol with serial no. 1264262;
  • one unit magazine of calibre 45 pistol, four pieces live ammunition of calibre .45;
  • one piece of Android Phone (HUAWEI) color blue;
  • recovered money amounting P10,150 in different denomination; and
  • the buy-bust money.

Police said total confiscated crystal meth weighed 5.1 kilograms with a standard drug price of P34.68-million in the illegal market.

The physical inventory of recovered evidence was conducted at the place of arrest witnessed by Brgy. 179 Kagawad Gilbert Galveno and Media representative Mr. Ismael Santos of Bulgar, a daily tabloid newspaper.

Police records showed Hewe is listed in the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) watchlist. He is a TNVS driver by profession. (PIA NCR)
