PASIG CITY, Dec. 20 (PIA) -- The City Government of Pasig has exempted bikers from wearing face shield while biking within the city.

According to the Pasig Transport, per evidence and consultation among bikers revealed that biking while wearing a face shield is dangerous.

“Wearing a face shield obstructs view and makes breathing difficult,” the bike commuters were unanimous in telling the local government.

Face shields, they said, can also hamper the vision of bikers, especially when there is a buildup of sweat and moisture within the shield itself.

The city government, for its part, said it fully supports biking as an effective and environment-friendly form of transportation in addition to naturally isolating riders from other commuters.

It also enjoined bikers to adhere to the IATF guidelines on wearing of face shields for other activities. (PIA-NCR)
