Phil Army's 302nd IB holds bloodletting

DUMAGUETE CITY, Dec. 3 (PIA) -- Officers of the 302nd Infantry Brigade (IB) of the Philippine Army organized a bloodletting activity inside their headquarters at Camp Leon Kilat on Nov. 30, 2020 to raise awareness on the importance of blood donation in extending lives.

Maj. Khadaffy Tawantawan, 302nd IB Civil-Military Operations Officer, disclosed that the event was participated in by soldiers, Reserved Officers’ Training Course (ROTC), and Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU), 703rd Community Defense Group (CDC), and officers of the Delta Company of the 11th Infantry Battalion (IB).

A total of 15,000cc bags of blood were collected from the activity.

A team from the Integrated Provincial Health Office headed by Evelyn Montibon administered the bloodletting inside the headquarters of the Philippine Army.

Montibon thanked the Philippine Army for setting aside time to conduct a blood donation drive.

Col. Leonard Peña, 302nd IB Commanding Officer, underscored that the event is an expression of the Bayanihan spirit among the Army soldiers.

"Your Army in Negros Oriental will not only secure the land but will help Negrenses in every way possible. Through the spirit of Bayanihan, this activity will continue on for the benefit of everybody,” Peña said. (ral/PIA7-Negros Orienta/with reports from 3032nd IB PA)
