PSA to MM residents, other HUCs: Participate in the conduct of 2020 Census of Population & Housing

CALOOCAN CITY, Jan. 1 (PIA) -- The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) appeals to the residents of Metro Manila, and all other Highly Urbanized Cities (HUCs) outside of the National capital region (NCR), especially those residing in gated subdivisions, exclusive villages, and condominiums, to participate in the conduct of the 2020 Census of Population and Housing (CPH) activities by providing census information of your households to the PSA.

In an advisory, the PSA said that in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the agency arranged several data collection modes for the safety and convenience of the public.

In addition, the PSA assured that enumerators who will conduct the census were trained rigorously and will strictly adhere to the health and safety protocols.

The data collection modes that will be used for the census are the following:

Face-to-Face Interview

The enumerator will conduct a physical interview following health and safety protocols.

Telephone Interview

The enumerator will schedule a phone call appointment with you or with the responsible member of the household.

Self-Administered Questionnaire

The enumerator will provide the CPH questionnaire for you to accomplish using pen or pencil and set an appointment for the collection of the duly filled-out questionnaire.

 Online

The enumerator will give you an access code to the 2020 CPH online portal for you to fill out the CPH questionnaire.

The PSA further assures the public that the CPH upholds the confidentiality of all collected information in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and Republic Act No. 10625.

Further, census data released by the PSA are only in statistical summaries without any reference to a particular person, household/family, or institution.

“Your cooperation in this undertaking will translate to accurate population counts, which will serve as inputs for policymakers in ensuring adequate resources, especially health care provisions, for the public,” Undersecretary Dennis S. Mapa, National Statistician and Civil Registrar General said

“To conclude the field collection operations for CPH in Metro Manila and other HUCs, we enjoin all residents to take part in this nation-building activity,” Mapa added. (PSA/PIA-NCR)
