PAGADIAN CITY, Dec 27 (PIA) - The equipment provided by the PNP national headquarters to the Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office (ZSPPO) is very helpful especially in celebrating this Christmas season.
Brigadier General Ronaldo Ylagan, the newly assumed regional director of the Police Regional Office (PRO9) announced this during the ceremonial turn over of equipment held at the covered court, Camp Abelon in this city, recently.
The turn over of 11 patrol cars and 160 Galil assault rifles, and K-9 dogs was carried out after the formal assumption of office of Colonel Redentor Retusto as OIC-provincial director of ZSPPO.
Ylagan said the 11 patrol cars provided for municipal police stations, 160 Galil assault rifles and K9 dogs for the 1st and 2nd Mobile Police Force Company of ZSPPO will greatly help the police to patrol around the churches, commercial centers and other places to ensure a safe Christmas celebration.
“The mobility of our municipal police stations will also be improved as they will be able to use patrol cars patrolling around the town, responding to reports and complaints from the people particularly the problem of peace and order. Through these equipment, the efficiency of our police will also be improved ”explained Ylagan.
He said the PNP's current priority is to strengthen their campaign against illegal drugs, illegal gambling, smuggling, loose firearms, internal cleansing and ‘No Take Policy’.
"I also ordered all Region 9 police chiefs to strictly adhere to the 'No Take Policy'. That is to say, no one will take or accept whether material or money from the operator of illegal gambling, drug dealers and other types of illegal sources," Ylagan announced.
The regional director added that he wants the police service to be provided to the people as well as the implementation of enforcement activities and crime prevention programs available at the excellent level.
