ILIGAN CITY, Jan. 30 (PIA) -- Approximately 3,000 frontline health workers in this city are set to be vaccinated, according to Emergency Operations Center (EOC) - Health Cluster head Dr. Belinda “Bunz” Lim during the recent episode of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) virtual presser.
As the top priority for the vaccination, Lim said these frontliners are composed of doctors, nurses, midwives, among others from both public and private hospitals, clinics and birthing homes.
“Mao na ang priority sa [That is the priority of] government kay frontliner we need to protect them,” she said.
The EOC Health Cluster manager also shared that the vaccination sites were already identified and orientation for vaccination teams is ongoing.
Lim said they submitted a proposal to the Department of Health (DOH) to target 1,000 health workers to be vaccinated per day instead of having the 3,000 vaccinated in just one day.
The second priority for the vaccination is the senior citizens which has a population of 30,000. However, Lim explained that only those eligible for vaccination will be inoculated.
There will be an electronic registration for the vaccination by which the DOH will then conduct a screening process.
Lim clarified that those who are in the priority list can refuse to be vaccinated. They will be scheduled for the next vaccination which is not yet known.
She also said that an initial consent will be consolidated by the first and second week of February since the DOH has set a deadline of submission on Feb. 15. Those who have initial consent will be prioritized on schedule.
“On the day of vaccination there will be another final consent aron masure jud na kampante ka na mudawat sa bakuna [to ensure that you are sure to receive the vaccine],” Lim added. (LELA/PIA ICIC)
