Kalinga PNP arrests 2 top wanted persons

CITY OF TABUK, Kalinga, Jan. 30 (PIA) - - Police operatives arrested  on Tuesday two most wanted persons   in renewed efforts to  bring all criminal suspects in the region with standing warrant of arrest behind bars.
 
Kalinga Provincial Police Director PCol. Davy Vicente Limmong identified the suspects as Jaime Tochok Bulatao of Barangay Butbut Proper , Tiglayan,  who is in the list of  most wanted persons  at the regional and national levels  for  murder,  and Jerome Bumosao Calsiyao a.k.a Dennis of Barangay Basao, Tinglayan  for  frustrated murder.  
 
Bulatao was arrested at Sitio Binongsay, Barangay Malin-awa, Tabuk City,  for the crime of murder involving the ambush of former Tinglayan Mayor Alexander Alngag in 1976 with no bail recommended,  and multiple frustrated murder on his alleged involvement on the ambush of former Mayor Marcelo Dela Cruz of Rizal and members of the PNP in 2008,  with Php200,000.00 recommended bail.
 
He is listed in the Most Wanted Persons  of Police Regional Office Cordillera for Multiple Murder and further listed as National Level Wanted person for Murder. The Department of the Interior and Local Government  offered  a reward of Php75,000.00 in 2002 for his arrest, according to Police report.
 
On the other hand, Calsiyao was arrested at Sitio Payyanga, Barangay Basao for frustrated murder by virtue of a warrant of arrest dated August 25, 2015 with recommended bail bond  of  Php200,000.00. He is listed in the Ten Most Wanted Persons (No.1 Provincial level 3rd Quarter 2018 and No. 6 Provincial level 3rd Quarter 2019).
 
Police further reported that  Calsiyao is allegedly a Communist Terrorist Group member of Komiteng Larangang Gerilya (KLG Ampis) under platoon "William."
 
Limmong commended his operatives  emphasizing that the series of manhunt operation conducted is a manifestation of the government law enforcement units’ effort and dedication in the fight against all forms of criminality particularly on the arrest of Most Wanted Persons within the region.

 “ Even at this time of pandemic, our law enforcers are still relentlessly pursuing suspects who are hiding and at large. I commend the continuing efforts of our operatives in bringing to justice these fugitives from the law and we share our commitment to the people of the province to effect the arrest of persons with standing warrants of arrest to make them answer for the charges filed against them in court,” he added.
 
Meanwhile, the Police Regional Office Cordillera reported from January 17 to 23, 2021, operations   carried out by the different units resulted to  the apprehension of 45 wanted personalities  including 10 listed as Most Wanted Persons  in various level. (JDP/PAB-PIA CAR, Kalinga)
