La Union’s lone city resumes renewal of business permits

SAN FERNANDO CITY, Jan. 6 (PIA) – The city government here resumes the renewal of business permits for the year 2021 beginning on Monday, January 4. 
 
Clients are advised to ensure the completeness of pertinent documents for a smooth renewal process.
 
“Siguraduhing kumpleto ang mga dokumento o requirements bago mag-renew ng business permits at magpunta sa pre-assessment,”the city government stated in an advisory. 
 
Entrepreneurs need to comply with various requirements such as the sworn declaration of gross sales/receipts, individual working permit, health card, valid fire safety inspection certificate issued by the Bureau of Fire Protection, valid sanitary permit given by the City Health Office, valid electrical inspection certificate from the City Engineering-Electrical Unit.
 
Meanwhile, food establishments need to present the food handler’s seminar certificate, health card of workers, and stool exam result and a valid lease agreement or contract of lease for businesses in Philippine National Railway properties. 
 
The pre-assessment area is located at the cottage in front of the Lion’s Park.
 
Then, clients have to file the assessed application at the People’s Hall.
 
Upon filing, they will pay at the City Treasurer’s Office and proceed to the Dacanay Hall to claim their papers. 
 
Clients may only visit base on the given schedule per barangay set by the city government to avoid overcrowding.

Operations are from Mondays to Fridays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm for those who sought to renew four and below number of business renewal applications while for those who will renew five or more permits, operations are from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
 
A ‘No Facemask, No Face Shield, No Transaction Policy’ is being strictly imposed. 
 
Further, the Local Economic and Business Development Office (LEBDO) expects some 7,718 business owners to renew their permits this year. 
 
Meanwhile, the city government will open the application for those who wish to add some other new business ventures this year on January 21. 
 
Aspiring entrepreneurs are required to submit a duly-accomplished unified application form, an original or photocopy of registration from the Department of Trade and Industry, a zoning clearance, business capitalization, occupancy permit, contract of lease if applicable, CCTV compliance, fire safety inspection certificate and other documents relevant to the business being applied for.
