LUNGSOD NG HENERAL SANTOS, Enero 29 --Isang mapagpalang selebrasyon ang isinagawa sa General Santos City nitong Lunes, ika-25 araw ng Enero taong 2021 para ipagdiwang ang naisabatas na Republic Act 11163 o ang National Bible Day.
Sa pangunguna ng Jesus Reigns Movement General Santos City, naging matagumpay ang nasabing selebrasyon simula sa naganap na motorcade parade hanggang sa maikling programa na ginanap sa gitna ng General Paulino Santos City Park o mas kilalang Plaza ng lungsod.
"The month of January being the first month of the year is addressed as the National Bible Month giving importance to the primacy of the Word of God, the bible, the guiding principle to our Philippine Constitution. Our Preamble admits the presence and importance of the Almighty God being our help in building a just and humane society and establishing our government for the common good of all people by the rule of law and a regime of truth, justice, freedom, equality, love and peace," ang naging panimulang mensahe ni City Councilor Hon. Jonathan Blando sa naganap na aktibidad nang dumalo ito.
"Our President Rodrigo R. Duterte supersedes previous Presidential Proclamation Numbers 2242, 44 and 1067 respectively by his Presidential Proclamation Number 124 called January as The National Bible month and goes further to call the last week of the month as the National Bible week and established as a law the last Monday of the month as The National Bible Day by his Republic Act 11163 last December 20, 2018. With these, every Filipino Citizen must recognize and adhere to the Principles of God's Word," dagdag salaysay pa ni Konsehal Blando.
Ang pagkakaroon ng koordinasyon sa lahat ng religious sectors ng lungsod ay naging daan rin upang maging matagumpay ang isinagawang aktibidad sa pangunguna ng Jesus Reigns Movement GenSan.
"Kasi this is already a law, everybody could join the celebration. So we started with a motorcade to let the people sa locals at least know that we are celebrating National Bible Week or National Bible Day, honoring the Word of God which is also the foundation of our nation." ang naging pahayag ni Pastor Nestor Cajes, ang Coordinator ng Jesus Reigns Movement General Santos nang nakapanayam ito.
Nagbigay rin ng mensahe ang Ama ng lungsod ng General Santos na si Mayor Ronnel C. Rivera sa ginanap na programa ng National Bible Day.

And that transforming power heals those who are wounded; restores those who are torn; and unites those who are divided. The bible becomes significant and relevant in every Christian faith believer that it undoubtedly gives aid to the government in the development of the moral character and spiritual foundation of the Filipino people," ang naging mensahe ni City Mayor Ronnel C.
