150 households benefit from DAR's water supply project

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Feb. 2 (PIA) - The local government unit of Diadi recently received a safe and potable water assistance project for its villagers.

Mayor Sandy Gayaton said they were grateful for the P80,000.00-worth Community-Managed Potable Water Supply and Sanitation (CP-WASH) Project of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR).

"We are truly grateful for the DAR as this project will benefit villagers of Barangay Duruarog of our town thereby providing its 150 households potable and clean water system," he said.

Gayaton said the project was made possible through the strong partnership of the executive and the legislative departments of the LGU.

Gayaton said the project aims to provide the Agrarian Reform Beneficiary (ARB) households and the schoolchildren access to clean water using a technology which is very affordable, easy to maintain, and taken cared of by the community.

"As explained by our partners from DAR, this project will filter bacteria, dirt and other water-borne diseases making it safe for consumption by the residents and farmers in the community," he added.

Gayaton also assured the DAR that the project will be protected and managed by the villagers as they are the direct beneficiaries of the assistance.(MDCT/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
