Navotas aims to inoculate 107,000 eligible residents with initial

CALOOCAN CITY, Feb. 8 (PIA) -- The Navotas City Government is aiming to inoculate at least 107,000 eligible residents across 20 vaccination sites with its initial COVID-19 vaccine rollout.

This was announced over the weekend by its City Health Office when presenting the Navotas' vaccination rollout plan to Health Secretary Francisco Duque III and Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles, among other members of the COVID-19 Vaccine Coordinated Operations to Defeat Epidemic (CODE) Team who visited the Navotas Polytechnic College to inspect the city's cold room and vaccination center.

The city also targets to vaccinate 100 individuals per day per site or a total of 2,000 daily.

Navotas has earlier signed a tripartite deal to purchase 100,000 doses of Astrazeneca vaccines, sent order for 10,000 doses from Moderna, and expressed intention to buy 40,000 doses from Pfizer.

It also purchased a bio refrigerator, transport coolers, and three ultra-low-temperature freezers.

"We have conducted a series of dry runs to keep our vaccination teams ready for any eventuality. We want our rollout safe and smooth that's why we also study the vaccination procedures of other countries so we may learn from their experiences," Mayor Toby Tiangco said. (PIA NCR)
