PIATF reminds MisOr residents to observe basic health protocols

MISAMIS ORIENTAL, Feb 2 (PIA) – Dr. Jerie Calingasan, head of the Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force of Misamis Oriental, reminded all residents of Misamis Oriental to observe the basic health protocol.

As more and more Misamisnons had been infected by the coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19), Calingasan emphasized the importance of keeping oneself safe and securing families and surroundings by observing the basic health protocols.

The PIATF Chief said that once a person experiences a symptom of the virus and hesitant to go to the clinic at the Provincial Health Office (PHO), he must immediately report to local health center and BHERTs to be properly monitored.  If the person is willing to go to the provincial clinic, he is advised to go to the capitol health services section of the PHO to be assessed.

Calingasan also shared that the Department of Health recently conducted a special training and seminar in handling COVID-19 vaccines.

He said there are three priority eligible groups that are covered and can avail the vaccines as discussed by the World Health Organization.

The priority eligible groups are Group A composed of frontline health workers including public and private health facilities (Hospitals/Clinics), public health workers (PHOs, MHOs), BHWs & BHERTs, DSWD, DILG, and essential workers; Indigent Senior Citizens; Remaining Senior Citizen; Indigent population; and Uniformed personnel; Group B composed of teachers and social workers; and Group C or all Remaining Filipino Citizens. With the vaccines  already on its way, Calingasan stressed that it is important to save for one’s health.  

Further, to prepare for the administration's COVID-19 vaccination program, the province of MisOr started the orientation of its health offices personnel in coordination with the Department of Health (DOH)-10.  Facilities such as waiting areas, registration areas, counseling areas, among others are also being prepared. 

As of Monday, February 1, only eight new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in Misamis Oriental brining the total number of confirmed cases in the province to 1,524.  Only 137 are in active status while 1,344 patients have recovered. (PIA10)
