PSA starts Nat'l ID Program in Vizcaya

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Feb. 3 (PIA) - The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has started the first stage of the nationwide implementation of the National ID Program in the province.

Cholly Bayon, PSA chief said at least 20 data collectors have been hired by their agency to conduct demographic profile and data among Novo Vizcayanos.

"This is the first stage of the process and the second and third stages are the biometric data gathering and the releasing of Identification Cards (IDs), she said.

Bayon was the guest of the recent virtual "Tungtungan ti Tribu Biskayano" of the PIA in Nueva Vizcaya.

She said their data collectors are now coordinating with local officials in the conduct of data collection, putting into utmost importance the observance and practice on the health protocols.

Bayon said their data collectors are now using tablets in gathering the necessary information from the households.

She said the data collectors were grouped into four teams to cover the 15 municipalities of the province, prioritizing the low income families.

According to Bayon, the 2020 COVID-19 Pandemic also decreased their transactions from 293,978 in 2019 to only 138,356 in 2020. (MDCT/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
