CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela, March 17 (PIA) - At least 300 soldiers from the 5th Infantry Division Philippine Army (5ID,PA) were vaccinated with Sinovac vaccines in its first day of vaccination roll out held on March 16, 2021.
B/Gen Larry B. Mojica, assistant division commander of 5th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, was the first to get the first shot of Sinovac vaccine and followed by other officers and enlisted personnel of the army Division which was conducted by military health personnel of the 5th infantry Division Station hospital.
Maj. Gen. Laurence Mina, commanding general of 5ID, PA, said while there is a need to be vaccinated against Covid-19, the observance of minimum health protocols should be practiced at all times to avoid the transmission of the virus.
“This vaccination program is just one of the tools to build protection against the virus. Wearing of face mask and face shields, physical distancing and frequent hand sanitation must still be observed,” Mina said.
It is recalled that the government has allotted 600 doses intended for all soldiers of the 5ID, PA to ensure the non-accumulation of Covid-19 while they are performing their sworn duty in keeping its area of operations a safe place to live in. (BME/MGE - PIA-2/Isabela)
