756 inoculated on the 1st day of the Covid-19 vaccine roll out

QUEZON CITY, March 3 (PIA) – A total of 756 individuals were inoculated on the first day of the national COVID-19 vaccination program roll out in several hospitals on March 1.

In a virtual press briefing, Presidential Spokesperson Secretary Harry Roque Jr reported that the first day of inoculation drive in hospitals such as the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) and Lung Center of the Philippines (LCP) Tala Hospital, Philippine National Police General Hospital, V. Luna Medical Center and  Veterans Memorial Medical Center was a success.

PGH Director Dr. Gerardo Legaspi, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Director-General Eric Domingo, and Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology Director Dr. Edsel Salvana were among the medical frontliners that received the vaccine on March 01.

“Maligaya po ang ating mga front liners kasi nga po nagkaroon sila ng peace of mind na bagamat sila po ay expose dito sa [Covid-19] virus, eh meron na silang proteksyon ngayon, (Although our front liners are exposed to the Covid-19 virus, they are now happy and confident that they are protected),” added Roque.

He added that in terms of vaccine allocation, NCR has 130,742 vaccines allocated; Region IV-A  1,115; Region III,  11,537; Cordillera,  3,279, Region I, 7,092;  Region II, 4,994, plus the allocation for PGH; Sa Region VI-B, 1,562., Region V , 5,191.
In the  Visayas,  at Region VI, 8,438; sa Region VII, 13,923; sa Region VIII  3,935.

Meanwhile in Mindanao, Region IX, is allocated 3,417; sa Region X, 7,239; Region XI,  8,004; Region XII, 8,705; Caraga,  3,044; and BARMM  940.

The remaining doses will be reallocated in case the uptake increases. (GRC-PIA IDPD)
