DOLE gives P8M livelihood funds to NV PLGU

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, March 31 (PIA) - The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) recently gave P8 million to the provincial government here to provide livelihood assistance to the poor.

DOLE Regional Director Joel Gonzalez in his visit to the province handed the funding assistance to Governor Carlos Padilla.

The provincial government is an accredited co-partner of the DOLE in the implementation of its livelihood programs.

"These funds will help our poor constituents especially now that they are hardly coping up with the COVID-19 pandemic," Padilla said.

Part of the DOLE fund assistance will be used for the implementation of the Tulong Pangkabuhayan para sa mga Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) program which will provide jobs for 331 villagers.

Through the fund assistance, at least 120 Nego Karts will also be made and distributed to provide livelihood for poor individuals including the provision of 100 Starter Kits to qualified beneficiaries.

The Negokarts will be used for fruit, vegetable, snack, street food, frozen food vending and rolling variety store.

The Starter Kits will be given in the form of tools and kits for gardening, welding, carpentry, dress making, baking and saleable items for variety store.(MDCT/BME/PIA-2 Nueva Vizcaya)
