ILIGAN CITY, Mar. 16 (PIA)--With the aim of pursuing nonstop electricity services amid the health crisis, the Iligan Light and Power, In. (ILPI) energized four more remote barangays in the city Friday, March 12.
The newly-energized barangays were Brgy. Lanipao, Brgy. Dulag, Brgy. Kalilangan and Brgy. Panoroganan.
Barangay captains of the said barangays expressed their gratitude as ILPI reached out to them through the needed electrification.
“Nagpasalamat ko kay ania mo karon uban sa ILPI para ila ipabalik ang kuryente sa Brgy. Dulag. Dako kaayo ni nga kalipay nga maramdaman sa mga tao. Sa dugay nga panahon, sukad atong Sendong, karon ra gyud mabalik ang suga sa Brgy. Dulag. Salamat kaayo,” said Dulag Barangay Captain Sinodin Natu.
[I am thankful that you are here together with the ILPI to restore the electricity in Brgy. Dulag. This is a great happiness that people will feel. After a long time, since the time of Sendong, it is just now that the power supply will be reinstalled.]
To recall, Brgy. Dulag was one of the most affected barangays in the city when tropical storm Sendong passed through the region in 2011. With the calamity, the power supply in the area was cut off and unrestored since then.
Citizenry in Brgy. Kalilangan through Barangay Captain Alimodin Mansumayan also shared how the timely energization impacted their area.
“Na-create ang Brgy. Kalilangan since 1991, wala gyud na sila katagamtam og suga. Ang among gigamit sauna kanang gitawag nila og palong-palong hantud nagka-improve na, naa nay solar. Ang problema kay diri nga lugara, halos gaulan man. Karon nga niabot na ang ILPI, dili na siguro mi magproblema anang battery. Nana may kuryente bisan pa og mag-ulan,” detailed Mansumayan.
[Brgy. Kalilangan was created in 1991, they never really experienced light. What we used in the past was is what they called palong-palong until it improved, there was already solar. The problem in this place is it rains almost every day. Now that ILPI is already here, maybe we will not anymore be problematic with the battery. There is already electricity even if it rains.]
Meanwhile, City Councilor Ian Uy, the Sangguniang Panlungsod Chair of Committee on Peace and Order and Safety, cited the relevance of barangay energization to the local government’s effort in ending local communist armed conflict.
“Kining atong gibuhat karon inabagan sa Iligan Light and Power, Inc., magpasiga ta og suga diri sa upat ka barangay. Sibo pud ni siya sa programa ron sa atong Presidente, ang EO 70, kaning whole-of-nation approach sa pagtapos niining armadong pakigbatok sa gobyerno sa atong mga igsoon nga New People’s Army,” said Uy.

This is also pursuant to the program of our President, the EO 70, this whole-of-nation approach in ending the armed conflict of government against our brothers and sisters in the New People’s Army.]
“Lain-lain og serbisyo ang among gidala. Isa sa ilang kinahanglanon is kuryente. Nasayod man ta nga tubig, kuryente importante kaayo ni siya, basic nga panginahanglanon sa atong tagsa-tagsa nga panimalay. Karon, mapasiga na diri,” he added.
