MAFAR, TFBM give machinery to farmers in Butig, Piagapo

LANAO DEL SUR, Mar. 13 (PIA) --  The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) - Lanao del Sur and Task Force Bangon Marawi (TFBM) turned over 39 farm machinery and equipment to 11 farm cooperatives in the municipalities of Butig and Piagapo. 

The assistance distributed includes four rice reapers, two mechanized mobile rice mills, four corn shellers, two four-wheeled farm tractors, one six-wheeler hauling truck, among others.

Some of the farm equipment turned over to Butig and Piagapo farmers with funds from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management – Marawi Recovery, Rehabilitation, and Reconstruction Program. (TFBM Field Office) 

With funds from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management – Marawi Recovery, Rehabilitation, and Reconstruction Program (NDRRM-MRRP), the distribution aims to boost the productivity of the farmers and improve their income.

To recall, MAFAR  conducted capacity building workshop for its agrarian reform beneficiaries organizations (ARBOs) in Piagapo and Butig.  The ARBOs underwent training courses on basic leadership development and fundamentals of a cooperative. (LELA/PIA ICIC)
