Manila Mayor Isko Moreno releases SAP allowance for 8,295 college, 805 SHS students

CALOOCAN CITY, March 3 (PIA) -- Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso has announced that 8,295 college and 805 senior high school (SHS) students from the Universidad de Manila (UdM) will be receiving their three-month allowances to assist them in their studies. 

"Good news, mga Batang Maynila! Nilagdaan po natin ngayon ang payroll ng 8,295 college students at 805 senior high school (SHS) students ng Universidad de Manila para sa kanilang January-March 2021 allowance," Mayor Isko Moreno said.

"Sa kabuuan ng tatlong buwan, makatatanggap po ng tig-P3,000 ang college students habang P1,500 naman para sa mga mag-aaral na nasa SHS," Domagoso added.

The social amelioration program (SAP) incentive will be given to undergraduate students of (UdM) and disbursed through ATM cards to ensure efficient service by the city government and convenience on behalf of the student.

"Tuloy-tuloy po ang paglulunsad natin ng social amelioration program para sa mga estudyante sa lungsod. Sana po sa maliit na kaparaanang ito ay makatulong ang Pamahalaang Lungsod sa inyong mga gastusin sa pag-aaral," Domagoso said.

"Makatitiyak din po ang bawat Batang Maynila na mananatili ninyong kaagapay ang Pamahalaang Lungsod tungo sa pagkamit ng dekalidad na edukasyon. Manila, God First!" he added.

To recall, under Ordinance No. 8568 passed by the city earlier, a student must have a clean disciplinary record to receive the stipend.

The student must also be a “bonafide resident and registered voter of the City of Manila,” the ordinance read.

“If the student is not of legal age to be a registered voter, his parent or legal guardian must be a registered voter of the City of Manila,” it read. (PIA NCR)
